Abstract
The present study aims to examine the impacts resulting from the commodification of peri-urban rural settlements due to tourism development. Therefore, in terms of purpose, it is applied; in terms of nature, it is descriptive-analytical; and methodologically, it belongs to quantitative research. For data analysis, SPSS software was used, employing factor analysis, one-sample independent t-test, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results indicated that the environmental index, with a mean of 4.05, and the cultural-artistic index, with a mean of 3.70, accounted for the highest and most significant impacts, whereas the lowest impacts were related to the visual and spiritual indices, with means of 2.46 and 2.73, respectively. Additionally, the results of the one-way ANOVA revealed that the differences in the mean impacts of tourism-induced commodification among the studied villages were statistically significant. This finding suggests that the levels and forms of commodification are not uniform across different villages and vary considerably. Spatially, the highest mean impacts of tourism-induced commodification were observed in Noghandar village, while the lowest were in Kong village.
